FJP Community Justice Student Intern

  • Why a community justice intern?

  • Major General Fitz John Porter, our local hero, was scapegoated for a terrible Civil War battlefield decision by a superior officer. He was wrongfully court-martialed and discharged as part of a political battle.

  • Today, the namesake Fitz John Porter Project is striving to promote justice in our community.

  • If you believe you have a means to promote justice and civility, apply to become a Fitz John Porter intern for a three month period.

  • There will be a $250 scholarship awarded to help you achieve your proposed project goal.

Fitz John Porter intern objective:

The objective of the Fitz John Porter community student intern is to design and implement a project to promote community justice and/or civility in the spirit of the Fitz John Porter project — a community force for good.

The Fitz John Porter project will assist the intern with helping to make the chosen project a success.
